What We Do
We promote the spaying/neutering of dogs and cats, in order to reduce the numbers of unwanted puppies and kittens. Financial assistance for these procedures is provided to qualified applicants. Costs involved are met from Dept. of Agriculture grants, public donations and proceeds of fund raising activities. Please check our News section, social accounts or contact us to enquire about neutering schemes.
Feral Cats
A feral cat is a cat that has never been handled & is not tame. Cats are natures answer to the control of rodents. Cats themselves are prolific breeders & can have up to three litters per year. By the time a mother cat is having her third litter her first litter is also starting to breed. In order to curtail numbers & to prevent the suffering of too many starving kittens we provide exceptionally low cost neutering vouchers & will lend traps to successfully & safely catch cats for neutering. Neutering is the best solution in preventing overpopulation & suffering among cats. For further details & advice please contact 086-0222432.
We do not have any official shelter facilities so we rely heavily on individual members to foster stray or abandoned animals. Chief outgoings are veterinary fees, telephone charges, cat & dog food, and insurance/affiliation. Assistance is provided to help meet costs of accommodating animals in care but all of the time involved and much of the financial outlay is contributed on a voluntary basis.
We are constantly searching for loving homes for rescued animals. If you are thinking about adopting a pet, visit our Adopt section.
We would like to invite your school to participate in our free Schools Education Programme. The purpose of the programme is to educate and empower young people and their communities to take positive action for animals. Visit our Education page for more information. Please register your school's interest by submitting the online form and one of our volunteers will then contact you as soon as possible.

Urgently Required -- RABBIT CAGES
13 June 2025
Do you have a “no longer used” not needed rabbit cage that you would be willing to donate to help kittens in our care? We have several cages but they are all in use and we really need a few more.
RABBIT CAGES are perfect for sick, injured, terrified or traumatised kittens or cats as they provide comfort & safety. Easy to clean & sanitise they provide a safe space for little ones to relax, rest, recover & decompress from whatever stress/trauma they are experiencing or dealing with.
If you have a similar to one to the one in the photo; that you are willing/able to donate, we’d be very appreciative as would the animals. Please email us offalyspca@live.com with your contact details we’ll call you or drop in to our office at Market Place, (Off Market Square) Tullamore. Thank you.🙏

The Offaly Volunteer Centre & Offaly Local Development Company Ltd. invited us to participate in their “Expo” at the Tullamore Court Hotel on 24/05/2025. This "Expo" showcased the amazing work being done by volunteers in numerous voluntary organisations across our county. We were delighted to be included among so many amazing community groups & we were especially thrilled when a visiting “gentle giant” chose to stop by for a chat with us & to check us out.
“Brody” is a fabulous, very calm, chilled out, relaxed & sociable “Irish Wolfhound” who made not just “our day” but charmed everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.🤗
