Public asked to assist in nationwide hedgehog count
Hedgehog Conservation Ireland, along with researchers from the University of Galway and Oxford, is inviting the public to participate in the first-ever Great Big All-Ireland Hedgehog Count.
The project's goal is to assist scientists in gaining a better understanding of the hedgehog population status in Ireland.
The count will commence next Monday, 8 June, and will last for one week.
Elaine O’Riordan, a researcher from the University of Galway and lead researcher for the Irish Hedgehog Survey, encourages people to search for hedgehogs in their gardens, local parks, green spaces, or woods.

RESERVED - Buba is available for adoption
Buba is a 1 year old terrier cross. A couple out walking their dog near bogland came across Buba, emaciated and covered in fleas in a drain. They very kindly rushed her to the vets; as a result she came into our care and has thrived in foster home. She is now available for adoption, is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. She is full of energy loves to play, walks well on the lead and also loves to cuddle. She is housetrained and gets on well with other dogs and cats. A home with older children would be best for her and an enclosed garden is a must. If you can give BUBA the loving home she deserves please call 086 8262986. A homecheck and adoption fee applies.

Happy Mother's Day from your pet!
Mother’s Day can be a day on which we also celebrate the bond between our pets and their human Mums. We are sure if they could, they would thank you for the love, security and joy you bring into their lives every day. You can undertake some fun activities with your dog, and, as this writer plans to do, cuddle with her cats. Taking a walk in the park or sharing a special treat can be wonderful ways to show your appreciation for your furry companions. Happy Mother's Day, be they human or pet Mums, the two often go together with mutual loving.
